Available Grants for Homeowners and Businesses in the Republic of Ireland
Homeowners and organisations in the Republic of Ireland can access generous support through SEAI and government-backed schemes. From solar PV to heat pump systems, these grants help reduce upfront costs and encourage smarter, sustainable energy use.
SEAI Solar PV Grants
Support includes €700 per kWp for the first 2 kWp, and €200 per additional kWp up to 4 kWp. The maximum total grant available is €1,800.
To qualify, homes must have been built and occupied before 31 December 2020 and must not have received previous funding for solar PV. A Building Energy Rating (BER) is required after installation, and all grant applications must be approved before installation begins.
SEAI Heat Pump Grants
Grants of up to €6,500 are available for eligible homes.
To qualify, homes must have been built and occupied before 2011 and must undergo a technical assessment by an SEAI-registered advisor. A €200 support grant is also available to help cover the cost of this assessment.
Non-Domestic Microgen Scheme (NDMG)
This scheme offers grants of up to €162,600 for solar PV systems up to 1,000 kWp.
It is open to non-domestic properties including businesses, farms, schools, and community groups.
Battery Storage
There are currently no standalone SEAI grants for battery storage systems. However, batteries can be included as part of a solar PV installation.
